Lenten Service Schedule for 2019

Lent is the forty day period before Easter, excluding Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Thursday.  In 2019, Ash Wednesday falls on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.  The Lenten season ends on Saturday, April 20, 2019.  Easter Sunday falls on April 21, 2019.

Lent is a solemn penitential season of the Church Year when we focus on the passion of our Lord and His sacrificial death and resurrection for the salvation of the world. The Lenten season starts with Ash Wednesday, a reminder of our beginning as dust from the earth. This Church season helps prepare our bodies and spirit through prayer, repentance and a contrite spirit as we look to the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord on the cross of Calvary. https://blogs.lcms.org/2016/breaking-down-the-church-year/

In addition to our normal Sunday services, we are offering additional services during the Lenten season.  A simple soup and bread meal will be served to those who want to share in fellowship prior to the Wednesday evening services.
