Lenten Service Schedule for 2019

Lent is the forty day period before Easter, excluding Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Thursday.  In 2019, Ash Wednesday falls on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.  The Lenten season ends on Saturday, April 20, 2019.  Easter Sunday falls on April 21, 2019.

Lent is a solemn penitential season of the Church Year when we focus on the passion of our Lord and His sacrificial death and resurrection for the salvation of the world. The Lenten season starts with Ash Wednesday, a reminder of our beginning as dust from the earth. In addition to our normal Sunday services, we are offering additional services during the Lenten season.  A simple soup and bread meal will be served to those who want to share in fellowship prior to the Wednesday evening services.

Wed., March 6 (Ash Wednesday) – Soup Supper 6:00 p.m.

Service 7:30 p.m. Ashes will be presented to those who wish them, and communion will be served.

Wed., March 13 – Soup Supper 6:00 p.m.

Lenten Service 7:30 p.m.

Wed., March 20 – Soup Supper 6:00 p.m.

LMLC Feb. 2019 Servant Event

Unforgotten Haven Snack Packs for Chemo Project.

We will assemble 500 Chemo Snack Packs for adults going through chemo. These packs will be dropped off at Unforgotten Haven office and they will be disbursed to cancer centers where chemotherapy infusion takes place – MC Anderson, Penn, Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Minnitti Center.

Date: Friday, 22nd Feb.
Time: 6 PM to 9 PM

Location: LMLC, our church

After assembling the snack packs, we will have dinner and movie/game night.

What We Need: We will be collecting the following items in Jan/Feb every Sunday. Please drop your donations in the Box in Narthex.
*Prepackaged peanut butter crackers-500 individual packs
*Prepackaged pretzels-500
*Small box of 100% apple juice with straw-500
*Hard candy, mints or lemon drops, cookies in sealed individual packages
500
*Chapstick or lip balm-500
*Packet of tissues-500
*Homemade cards or notes of encouragement-500
*Ziplock 1 gallon size storage bags-500
*Donations are welcome

Volunteers are needed to make cards/notes of encouragement for 500 snack packs. You can make a few cards every week and bring them to the church. We can supply the stationary or you can get your own.
